About Mordisko

Banh Mi History

When the French colonized Vietnam in the early 1800s, they brought with them the French baguette and French ham. These products were soon introduced to the Vietnamese and a new craze began. Over the next150 years, the Vietnamese started incorporating their own unique flavors to the basic sandwich, which later named Banh Mi. In Vietnamese, the word Banh means anything made out of flour and the word Mi, refers to French.

OH MY GOODNESS they were sooo delicious! The banh mi was perfect with the jalapeños and pâté. Both were a great touch to the sandwiches.

Stopped by for a sandwich...it was delicious! Will for sure come back here again for lunch!

Meet the Creators

Michael Tran, the owner and founder of Mordisko Banh Mi, was not always involved in the alluring food industry. In fact, he previously worked as an avid programmer, with a double degree in computer science and electrical engineering. Mr. Tran ultimately realized that his passions lay elsewhere, and quit his job in pursuit of opening an authentic Vietnamese cafe. Today, Mordisko Banh Mi specializes in delicious banh mi, spring rolls, and beef stew!

Menu Background

We strive to incorporate the authentic flavors which make up the Vietnamese cuisine. Mordisko Banh Mi offers ten different types of sandwiches. Each banh mi features their own twist of flavors and spices, along with large assortment of meats to choose from. For example, the lemongrass tofu banh mi, a customer favorite, is completely vegetarian and highlights the famous lemongrass taste which Vietnam is known for.
